Kishore, I do not really know what is
going on with them. Last time I dealt with them it 2 year back. The display on
one of my units went down and I reputed to them. They told me that is was
faulty and sent me a replacement. I was not able to ...

Henry Longfellow use to say “your fate is common fate of all”, as long as I live I was always confirming that, mildly was fighting it but always was losing. This happens at in this time as well.

There is something horrible that happens
in my life: we got a dog. It is not that I hate dogs, I do not particularly
care about them and everything that I know about this life is how to be or how
to be-with Cats. Today I have a horrible alien life...

I do not know how about 5dB attenuation
via cable but for sure cables sound very different. Hey you are talking to a person
who have a small fortune spent for wiring my entire system with vintage Dominos
and I never felt that it was waste of money...
|
Well, you can’t use Gogol Suite as some kind of reference in term of gain. The Gogol Suite was record by Pope Music at very high dynamic range they have very little compression. It feels like very soft volume recording as a result.
Have put all my DHT's on the curve tracer to see if pairs can be matched for preamp duties.
It was very interesting to read about all of it. If you have a socket for YO186 then you can accommodate all 4V tubes and I si...
|
This is very interesting, Anthony. I do think that absolute polarity has own role to play. Also, do check the DC that might be sent out of your preamps, certainly with Placette and with your 10Y before the transformer. Chas it with disconnected Milq ...
|
Anthony, I do not know what you new buffer is. A few notes. The difference between sub 10R and 300R of output impedance is significant for the load you have (Milq) between your new buffer and your 10Y preamp. The type of the description you provided,...
|
Anthony, I am afraid I do not agree with your assessment of the situation. Let look at what is going on together. The 10Y preamp is not another league but juts a proper architectural solution for your system configuration. You have a power amp with v...
|
*** … unless you are saying that the preamp Zout will possibly change the DSET filter phase somehow? Yep, this is exactly what I am saying. Look the impedance of your preamp is factored in the source impedance of your channel’s filter. The argument...
|
Hm you are true in the “terra incognita” territory as far as I concern. The preamps are mystery to me. All my attempts to make any decently sounding preamp or even buffer failed. To me Placette was truly God sent and if I got burned that I am looking...
|
I see, let me to explain how the this work all together the you will be able to make your own judgement. Let look at the functional purpose of the emails in there. The R1 resistor is a loading resistor. This is understandable. It makes sense to kee...
|
Anthony, I would recommend
you go other direction. I very much assure that with over 7V on fist stage bias
the channel is dead, it should be around 4V. Let see how to fix it. I would certainly do not change neither 12.1kR
resistor nor 402k resist...

Rowuk, I did not read how Bob does it I do not think that what he does has anything to do with bass. I would be surpassed if it was. I mean, bass plays a lot of role in phase randomizing and in many other aspects of imaging, but I do not think that ...

God, Mats, thank you for reminding me about the Clark’s favorite recordings. I went over just one box and I have so many more! I wish I had time to do it, I had some time luxury a couple month ago as but not now. I do need to run that project through...
… I am still a bit concerned how the girl-with-string-bass will go over in your house, but Robbins himself said he is tired of that song….
JJ, I know what you are taking about and references to “that song” is something ...
|
I am not sure about the objectives. You are not well familiar with Bruckner and you would like to get an introductory box set or you would like to get a “box set” from downloadable recourses only? If the “downloadable” is the key they it would be jus...
I listened to this talk up to the beginning of the question-and-answer session. I am surprised that this method would really capture the essence of Romy's almighty DPOLS condition. It seems to me that Robbins is very much cent...
|
Yep, Bruno. What Bob Robbins describes is exactly what DPOLS is all about. I was very surprised to hear it coming from the tranches of audio community. When I saw you posing a link to some kind of presentation at another audio show I did not click it...

Yes, rowuk, thank you, I have seen it. The FB Bruker forum showed a video a few weeks ago how Mike Framer demonstrated his fetish of opening the box, smelling it and to glorifying it in all imaginable way. It is hard to say what it is. Bernard Haitin...

There is a new interesting unit out there: Ecoflow Delta and
it has a like brother Ecoflow R600. Somebody might try them for audio......
I'm listening now and the sound is quite good in my opinion. Ma is plying from WGBH's studio in Boston so I presume they are carrying the stream as well. He is on for one more hour.
I did not get the feeling that he wa...

Actually I did not mean the timing offset dictated by
musical or performing reasons. They are whatever they are. What I meant is how the
performance timing get reflected by playback system. Timing during a performing event is not the timing
durin...

I have a long listening session yesterday and was thinking a
lot about one interesting subject. Different playback systems differently
present intentional “inconsistency” or better to say “unexpectancy” of timing.
If you listen some truly masters ...

After Clark passed away I created a web site for him in
order for his Boston, Music and Clark to be together for posterity. It is still
a work in progress but the basics are there. During the next few weeks I will
continue uploading Clark’s favori...

hell of time to figure out how to test the tube with TV2 it I never actually
used my finding and never tested 6C33 w...
